TEEN COURT COORDINATOR

The Alachua County Sheriff's Office is currently seeking interested and qualified candidates for the position described below. A complete, detailed job description for this position is available in the Alachua County Sheriff's Office Human Resources Bureau.

Description

Specialized work responsible for coordinating and implementing all Teen Court Program activities for the ACSO, including administrating and coordinating all diversion program activities with those agencies that the ACSO holds subject related interagency agreements with. The Teen Court Program Coordinator is also responsible for the daily management of the program and all public relation activities. These responsibilities require independent judgment, discretion and initiative in the performance of the duties required.

Hours

Full time, hours may vary. Work outside of regular office hours required.

Salary

Salary $36,424/year. Educational incentive pay. Bi-weekly pay period.

Training

Requirements

To submit an application:

  • Bachelors Degree required, preferred Major (s): Counseling Education, Sociology, Psychology, or related field. Five (5) years of experience working with juveniles in a teaching and/or counseling capacity may substitute for a Bachelor degree.
  • Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with major course in education, psychology, counseling, sociology, criminal justice, related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a Juvenile/Youth related profession.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience in a related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills and ability may be considered.
  • Ability to provide cross-cultural counseling.
  • Skilled in operating a personal computer.
  • Good communication, public speaking and decision-making skills necessary.
  • Current, valid Florida driver’s license
  • Must be of good moral character.

Selection

The most qualified applicants will be scheduled for an oral board interview with various representatives of the Sheriff's Office. Selected applicants must successfully complete the requirements of a conditional employment offer and a pre-employment background investigation including drug test, polygraph, physical examination, and psychological evaluation.
