Criminal Justice Technician - Records Bureau

The Alachua County Sheriff's Office is currently seeking interested and qualified candidates for the position described below. A complete, detailed job description for this position is available in the Alachua County Sheriff's Office Human Resources Bureau.


Advanced, technical clerical/record processing work involving varied and complex typing and criminal records processing tasks. Requires some independent judgement and initiative in the development of specialized work methods and procedures. Interact and process requests from the public; process arrest related information; create and maintain files. Responsible for entry and retrieval of information from the Criminal Justice Information System and general clerical functions. Criminal Justice Technicians are provided with uniforms and any necessary equipment, in accordance with ACSO policy.


Full-time, shift work. 24-hour operation.


$21,852/year. Educational incentive pay. Bi-weekly pay period.



To submit an application:

  • Type 30 cwpm
  • Must be of good moral character, have no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions involving moral character, perjury or false statements.
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Must be at least 18 years of age


The most qualified applicants who pass the typing test and required selection examination (OSAB-S) will be scheduled for an oral board interview with representative of the Sheriff's Office. Selected applicants must succesfully complete the requirements of a conditional employment offer, a pre-employment background investigation, polygraph and drug screen.
